From August 24-28, the president of ENAP, Helena Kerr do Amaral; the director of Managerial Development, Margaret Baroni; and the advisor of international cooperation, Soraya Brandão will participate on the II Seminar of Schools of Government, within the forum for the dialogue among India, Brazil and South Africa (IBSA). The seminar will take place at the cities of Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram, in India. The main theme of the meeting is: “South-South Practices in Management, Leadership and Training and Public Service Delivery”.

Organized by the Administrative Staff College of India (Asci), the activity is a result of a former seminar promoted by ENAP during the second semester of 2008, in São Paulo and in Brasília, with managers of Asci and of the Public Administration and Management Academy (Palama), from South Africa. The event was the first of three meetings scheduled among these countries to debate capacity building for civil servants and the delivery of public services of high quality to citizens, as well as to promote South-South cooperation.

During the five days of the 2009 seminar, there will be sessions in classrooms where each country will present two case studies related to good practices in capacity building of human resources through innovation in leadership, curriculum design, and the offer of public services. The program also includes a visit to the state of Kerala, in the south of India, structured to offer participants a thorough comprehension of initiatives on poverty reduction and decentralized governance, which are being implemented there.
